First day at sea - January 4 2011

We left Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego at 8pm on January 3, the weather was cloudy, rainy and cold, not very summery!  After leaving the Beagle Channel, we have now been in open waters for about 12 hours.  The waters are - fairly - calm and the going is relatively smooth.  The days are very long (around 20 hours) therefore this morning we woke up at 4.45 thinking it was much later!
Internet works well and we are happy to be able to work, exercise and sightsee at the same time.  The World is a 525ft private ship with great apartments and wonderful comforts.  A great ship - so far so good!

Abbiamo lasciato Ushiaia, dove il tempo era freddo e piovoso (altro che estate), dopo aver superato il Canale Beagle, stiamo navigando in mare aperto da 12 ore.  L'oceano e' abbastanza calmo e tutto procede bene.  Le giornate sono molto lunghe ( quasi 20 ore di luce) quindi stamattina ci siamo svegliati alle 4.45 credendo fosse molto piu' tardi!
Internet funziona bene, siamo contenti di poter lavorare, allenarci e fare i turisti allo stesso tempo.  Siamo a bordo di "The World" una nave di 200m con appartamenti molto belli e tutti i comfort.  Una nave fantastica!
