The last day in South Georgia sees the ship anchored off the coast of Prion Island, a small island known for the incredible number of albatross it host. Our Zodiac trip was to leave at 11.30 for a one hour tour of the small Prion Island. However, the weather took a turn for the worse with winds gusting at 65 knots and some snow falling and therefore the excursion was cancelled. It would have been a very wet ride and landing in less than balmy temperatures, therefore, this may be for the best. Albeit from a distance, we did see a number of large albatross landing and taking off. This is shaping up to being a good day to stay on the ship and work!
